Moscow (Reuters) – The death toll from a domestic gas explosion at a residential building in the Nogansk region near Moscow has risen to five, according to the Central Directorate of Emergency Situations in the Russian capital Moscow.
It may be recalled that a gas explosion took place in a 9-storey residential building in the town of Nogansk in the Russian capital Moscow yesterday, as a result of which the death toll has now reached 5.
According to the report of foreign news agency Reuters, 5 people have been killed and several others were injured as a result of the explosion.
The blast destroyed parts of the second, third and fourth floors of the building and damaged 24 apartments, according to reports of officials.
More than 170 people have been evacuated, but it is not yet known how many are still under the rubble. Rescue teams are currently conducting a search and rescue operation.
