PIA resumes flight operations to/from Kuwait

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed flight operations to Kuwait following the lifting of a self-imposed ban by the Kuwaiti authorities.
According to the details, PIA is launching flight operations with 2 weekly flights. Kuwait had imposed a self-imposed ban on Pakistani planes and pilots, due to which, PIA flights were not allowed to enter Kuwait.
Pointing out the exploitative attitude of the PIA, every aviation minister also issued an order to stop Kuwait Airlines.

On the other hand, Kuwaiti Airlines was flying freely to Pakistan, but now the national flag carrier has resumed its flights to Kuwait. PIA’s chief executive officer (CEO) Air Marshal (R) Arshad Malik extended special thanks to the Minister of Aviation, Secretary Aviation and officials.
He said that the efforts of the Foreign Ministry, Pakistani and Kuwaiti ambassadors helped in the resumption of the flight operations. The PIA will continue to work tirelessly to help Pakistanis.

It may be recalled that the issue of ban was raised by the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) at the diplomatic level but permission was not granted. Under pressure from the Pakistani government and civil aviation, the national airline was also allowed to operate in Kuwait.
The national flag carrier has also successfully undergone a safety audit carried out by transport authorities in Canada and International Air Transport Association (IATA).

It is to be noted that PIA is operating its regular and special flights to/from many countries including Jeddah, Dammam, Madina Munawara, Riyadh, Al Qassim, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Ras al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Oman, Malaysia, Syria, Bishkek, Tashkent, Toronto and Kabul.
