Omicron wreaks havoc in US, dozens of flights canceled

A new variant of the corona virus, known as the Omicron variant, has wreaked havoc in the United States.

According to the New York Times, due to the increasing cases of Omicron, not only the hospitals have run out of space for patients, but also the airlines have canceled dozens of their flights, when millions of people want to travel from one place to another to celebrate Christmas.

According to the report, a large number of Americans are currently in the most difficult situation because just a day ago, the well-known American airlines United, Delta and Alaska announced that they are canceling their flights for December 24.

In this situation, the American Automobile Association says that the strongest possibility is that between December 23 and January 2, about 109 million people will travel by road.

One of the reasons for the cancellation of flights by the airlines is that the crew itself has been affected by Omicron. It is estimated that the cancellation of 120 flights have been reported.

According to media reports, the number of patients infected with Omicron has exceeded the number of people infected with Delta in the United States.

Israel, on the other hand, has placed both countries on a “red list” in terms of travel to prevent the rapid spread of the new form of corona  in the United States and Canada. Citizens are required to obtain special permits, as well as those entering the country from these countries under strict surveillance.

Meanwhile, the UAE has banned four countries to curb the spread of Omicron, according to the Gulf Times, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCA). AA) has announced the suspension of all flights from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Nigeria from December 25.

In addition, foreigners residing in these countries for more than 14 days will be barred from entering the UAE, but we exclude UAE citizens, close relatives, diplomatic missions, government delegations and Golden Residence holders from this decision.
