ASF recover 40 tolas of gold from passenger en route Dubai

KARACHI: Airport Security Force (ASF) in an operation at Karachi Airport recovered approximately 40 tolas of gold from a passenger en route a flight to Dubai.
According to a spokesperson for the Airport Security Force, “ASF personnel recovered 40 tolas of gold from a Dubai-bound passenger”. Passenger Zeeshan Waheed skillfully hid the gold in his shoes, however, the ASF recovered the gold during the search and foiled the smuggling attempt.

The spokesman said that the accused and the gold have been handed over to the customs authorities for further legal action.
It is pertinent to note, that prior to this, several accused have been arrested at airports across the country for attempting to smuggle gold, money, and/or drugs. ASF and customs officials are very active in this regard, according to reports.

Earlier in the day, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) raided the Islamabad International Airport and recovered 840 grams of heroin from a passenger’s trolley bag. According to authorities, a passenger named Motahar Shah, a resident of Charsadda, was on his way to Saudi Arabia via flight number U206. A case has been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
