Afghanistan’s national football team faced Pakistan today (Thursday) in the first leg of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and eventually settled for a goalless draw.
The match between Afghanistan and Pakistan took place at Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad.
The Afghan national team is set to face Pakistan again in the return leg of these qualifiers next Tuesday in Kuwait. This match, while hosted by Afghanistan, will be held on neutral ground in Kuwait.
It is worth noting that Afghanistan has played three group stage matches in the AFC Asian Cup so far—against Syria, Myanmar, and Pakistan—recording two defeats and one draw.
