ISLAMABAD – October 11, 2025: In the past 24 hours, multiple regions across Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan witnessed fresh waves of militant activity, counterterrorism operations, and security alerts as Pakistan’s law enforcement and armed forces intensified efforts to neutralize threats and safeguard internal stability.

Gilgit-Baltistan

A faction of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for a firing raid targeting the GB Scouts in the Bosh Das area. However, police and local law enforcement reported hearing gunfire but found no physical evidence of an attack on ground. The claim could not be independently verified, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the authenticity of the TTP’s statement.

Balochistan

In Quetta, a surrendered Khawarij commander has made significant revelations regarding foreign intelligence agencies’ direct support for the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). According to the commander’s statement, the BLA received training, funding, and operational guidance from hostile entities abroad, enabling targeted attacks on civilians and security forces under a false narrative of separatism. The confession further detailed that leaders of these outfits remain in constant contact with foreign handlers, who exploit social, ethnic, and political grievances to recruit youth and spread anti-state propaganda online. Officials described the confession as evidence of a broader hybrid warfare strategy aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.

In Kolwah, militants carried out an armed assault targeting law enforcement agencies. Casualty figures have not yet been confirmed, but a search-and-cordon operation has been launched. The BLA has claimed responsibility, though the claim remains unverified.

In Zamuran, a supply vehicle came under attack along a key route, though no casualties were reported. Security personnel have cordoned off the area and are tightening surveillance across key logistical corridors.

Meanwhile, in Buleda, an individual accused of espionage was shot by unidentified assailants. The BLA has again claimed responsibility, but security officials have yet to verify the authenticity of the statement. A targeted operation is underway to track down those involved.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In Tirah Valley (Khyber District), security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bar Qambar Khel, Haider Kandao, eliminating a high-value militant identified as Sabir Khan. The terrorist was attempting to flee disguised in a burqa when intercepted. Sabir Khan was wanted for orchestrating multiple attacks on security forces. The operation demonstrates the efficiency and tactical precision of Pakistan’s counterterrorism forces in the region.

Near the Pak-Afghan border in Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan, a fierce exchange of heavy fire broke out between Pakistani security personnel and Afghan Taliban fighters. Security forces retaliated effectively to cross-border aggression, and the situation remains tense as the skirmish continues.

In Dera Ismail Khan, terrorists launched a coordinated attack on a police training center, sparking a heavy exchange of fire. Seven police officers were martyred and 13 others injured, while five attackers were neutralized. Authorities have launched a large-scale manhunt for fleeing militants. The assault underscores the persistent militant threat in southern KP, and the risks faced by Pakistan’s frontline security forces.

In Central Kurram, a separate IBO in Goaza led to the killing of two terrorists. The operation, part of ongoing clearance efforts, aimed to dismantle remaining militant networks operating in the tribal districts.

In Bajaur, an operation in the Mamond area resulted in the elimination of multiple militants, including a key commander. One Pakistani soldier embraced martyrdom during the clash. Intermittent fighting continues in nearby areas as security forces conduct pursuit operations.

In Bannu District, law enforcement and security agencies launched a joint counterterrorism operation on the directives of DIG Sajjad Khan and DPO Saleem Abbas Kalachi in Domel, Kam Chashmi, Barghanto Dam, and Marakay Bera. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), suffered heavy losses as several hideouts were destroyed. Four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) prepared for sabotage were safely defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad. Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed praised the bravery of local police and citizens for assisting in the operation, vowing continued efforts to crush Khawarij networks.

In Orakzai, security officials confirmed the complete elimination of 30 Khawarij terrorists responsible for the October 7–8 attack that martyred Lt. Col. Junaid Tariq, Major Tayyab Rahat, and nine soldiers. Earlier operations had killed 19 militants, and Thursday’s action marked the final phase of neutralization. Officials stated that the operation reflects Pakistan’s firm resolve to eradicate all India-backed Khawarij networks, declaring that “the blood of our martyrs will not go in vain.”

Also in Bannu, three tribal elders from the Marwat Bettani Qaumi Tehreek — identified as Waliullah, Farmanullah, and Ataullah — were found shot dead near Tochi Bridge, two days after being abducted by militants. The incident has triggered anger and mourning across Lakki Marwat and surrounding areas, with locals accusing authorities of inaction. Community leaders have demanded a swift crackdown on militant cells responsible for the assassinations.

In Nowshera, police recovered a Russian-made hand grenade near Camp Korona, adjacent to the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway in Akbarpura. The Bomb Disposal Unit confirmed that the grenade was inactive, and search operations are ongoing to trace its origin. A case has been registered, and CCTV footage is being analyzed.
