The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the Narendra Modi-led Indian government for spreading blatant lies about peace and normalcy in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to mislead the international community.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar following a meeting of its leaders, expressed serious concern over the unfounded claims by Indian political and military leadership of an “improving security situation.” The meeting stated that such assertions are a “cruel joke” while the entire territory remains under a heavy military and police siege.
The APHC condemned the recent threatening statements by Indian army officials and BJP leaders, calling them highly provocative and dangerous. “Such rhetoric is pushing the region towards the brink of a catastrophic war,” the statement warned.
The APHC also hailed the recent remarks of the Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Syed Asim Munir, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political and diplomatic support to the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir. The support was affirmed until the dispute is resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
“Kashmiris are grateful to the people and the army of Pakistan for their unwavering support and solidarity in the face of Indian state repression,” the APHC said.
The statement further emphasized that India’s harsh measures, including the prolonged illegal detention of leadership and continued crackdowns on political organizations, cannot weaken the people’s resolve. “India must realize that it cannot crush the Kashmiri people’s just demand for the right to self-determination through oppression and brutality,” the spokesman added.
