KARACHI — November 22, 2025: Internationally acclaimed Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has finally spoken about long-standing claims that he demands hefty fees to appear on television shows and interviews. The singer, who commands over 11 million followers on Instagram and remains one of Pakistan’s most celebrated performers, discussed the matter during his recent appearance on Maliha Rehman’s YouTube show.

Atif Aslam, known for chart-topping hits such as “Aadat”, “Kuch Is Tarha”, “Ba Khuda”, and “Dil Diyan Gallan”, said he is aware of the allegations circulating online. Responding calmly, he explained that his busy schedule often prevents him from accepting invitations — a fact some people twist into accusations.

“If someone says I charge a heavy amount, it clearly means they want to call me and want the world to know about it,” he said. “Allah has given me immense respect. Sometimes I genuinely can’t make it due to my commitments. I’m aware of the claims, but I’m unapologetic. I don’t feel the need to respond.”

Aslam added that people’s attitudes often shift depending on how much they want him on their platform. “They are good only till their show or interview is done. I’ve seen it all. It’s not arrogance — arrogance doesn’t suit human beings.”

Speaking about fame and success, the singer reflected on the early years of his career: “At 18, I learned how to win the world — and I did. I achieved everything I dreamed of big venues, sold-out records, global fans. But eventually you realize it’s never enough. The quest for more continues, not to stay in the race, but to enjoy the journey.”

The conversation also revived earlier industry anecdotes, including claims by Tabish Hashmi that some celebrities have demanded up to one crore rupees for an appearance. TV host Nida Yasir had also once jokingly advised the singer to reduce his fee and consider appearing on her morning show.
