India’s aggressive posture and lingering embarrassment from the May 10 conflict with Pakistan continue to drive military escalation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as reflected in statements by IG Ashok Yadav, head of the paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) in Kashmir.

Speaking at the BSF’s Annual Press Meet 2024–2025 held at Humhama, Yadav boasted that ‘Operation Sindoor’ will continue “as long as there are misadventures from Pakistan,” claiming that Indian forces are maintaining full preparedness to tackle alleged provocations across the Line of Control.

The IG asserted that the operation remains underway and highlighted the so-called efficiency of India’s intelligence grid, adding that “every input is followed up swiftly.”

Observers in occupied Kashmir warn that such statements reflect India’s ongoing militarisation and attempts to justify aggressive posturing in the disputed territory, further intensifying the already fragile situation along the Line of Control.
