The poor and needy should be given their right: Allama Haqqani

Lahore (29th April, 2020): ‘Zakat, Sadaqat is of great importance, the poor and the needy should be given their due’, said Allama Haqqani and Allama Mousavi during their scholarly talk on RehmatHeeRehmat, ramadan transmission powered by Q-Mobile.

There is a stern promise for those who hoard and those who do not desist even in this month, just as those who do good deeds in this month get a great reward, so whoever disobeys Allah, Allah would be very angry with him.

Speaking on Baaghi TV, Allama Abdul Shakoor Haqqani said in response to a question that every worship has its own time. Those who pray and recite the Holy Qur’an in this month will surely get a great reward. The one who pays Zakat and Sadaqat should also remember that this month is not fixed for Zakat. There is a fixed period for it and when it is completed, Zakat should be paid.

Allama Haqqani said that the syllabus of Zakat will be different, the earner will be one or more but the criteria set for the syllabus will be applicable. Each syllabus will have Zakat separately. In response to another question, he said that the one who will be the master will be the one who has the syllabus.

In response to a question, Allama Mousavi said that if the father has transferred any property in the name of the children, then as long as the father sponsors, the father will pay Zakat. He said that after that the time will come when the children will grow up and will pay their Zakat on their own.

Allama Haqqani said that the source of income is not zakat, rather zakat is on income. If a person buys a plot of land and builds a house on it, he will not have to pay the rent.

Allama Haqqani said that the obligatory alms should be given only to his Muslim brother and the supererogatory alms can be given to non-Muslims as well. Can also be given to your relatives.

Allama Mousavi said that in this regard, that we should see in our neighborhood, who is entitled to be given in the neighborhood and give to them. Yes, if it is given to an unjust person by mistake instead of a rightful one, the reward of the giver will not decrease.

Allama Haqqani said that Zakat could be given to sick people in the hospital, adding that it was not necessary to say that it was Zakat. In response to a question, he said that Zakat will not be levied on the building of the mosque and madrassa, and this zakat can be paid on the children studying in the madrassa and the mosque, the teacher’s salary and other expenses.

Allama Mousavi also confirmed that Zakat should not be told that it is Zakat but should be given quietly to the rightful owner. Answering a question, he said that the virtue which Allah has ordained is certain. Yes, apart from Ramadan, Allah Almighty can reward man according to his intention. He said that apart from Ramadan, Zakat can be given to Muslims even in difficult times.
