If the PTI Government had followed our policy, Shahbaz Sharif made a big claim

According to Baaghi TV, PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif has demanded the launch of a large-scale public works program in the country.

Shahbaz Sharif said that in order to run the country’s economy, the interest rate should be reduced immediately to 6 percent. Construction should be started under the government development program across the country so that people could get employment. Starting projects to pave roads, schools, clinics, warehouses, canals is the most important need of the hour. The government has again made a wrong decision and instead of increasing the PSDP, it has budgeted less than last year.

Significant reduction in budget of the Presidency

Shahbaz Sharif said that the budget should be increased in PSDP. Economic activities can be increased by launching new projects in the country. The government should take bold steps to reduce income tax, reduce the burden from the people, give relief and concessional budget to the people in bad situations. Only by increasing demand can the economy run. The resources for CPEC projects are like cumin in the mouth of a camel.

Shahbaz Sharif further said that the government itself is responsible for non-collection of taxes. This is a problem created by itself. The PML-N had kept the tax collection at an overall rate of 14.5% per annum. If PTI had followed our policy, it would have collected Rs 5,000 billion in taxes this year. If our policy was followed, the tax target for the next financial year would be Rs 5700 billion. Think wisely, prudently, with an open mind and heart instead of stubbornness. Instead of taking resources from the people, the government should adopt a policy of giving them resources and relief. There is a big difference in 5.8% and negative growth conditions. Both require separate measures in the budget.
