Lahore, 19th May: A major decision by Punjab’s senior minister Abdul Aleem Khan has averted the threat of a flour crisis in Punjab.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Punjab Provincial Minister for Food Abdul Aleem Khan has contacted the Flour Mills Association.
The Provincial Minister assured to accept all the demands of the Flour Mills Association. The agreement between the Flour Mills Association and the Food Department will be finalized today. Flour Mills of Punjab will be able to store flour of 7 days instead of 3 days. Flour Mills will be able to purchase wheat from any district of the province.
Flour mills will be allowed to store 1200 sacks. The food department and district administration will not be able to enter the limits of flour mills. Flour mills association has withdrawn the increase in flour prices 20 kg bag of flour will cost Rs 805.
Senior Minister Punjab and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that flour mills have the freedom to buy and keep wheat while Chairman Punjab Flour Mills Association Rauf Mukhtar said that negotiations of flour mills association with the government have been successful. To accept the demands regarding the movement of wheat, the strike will end today after a written agreement.
