A Chinese professor researching on COVID-19, killed

Washington (Reuters), 6th May: A Chinese professor researching the coronavirus from the University of Petersburg has been killed in the United States. According to reports, his research on the coronavirus was very close.

Police say Assistant Professor Bing Lu was found dead in his home with bullet marks on his head and throat.

As per police, another man was found dead in a car near Professor Lu’s home and that the same man allegedly committed suicide in his car after killing the Professor at his home.

Police believe the two men knew each other, but there is no evidence on it. It is still not clear whether Professor Lu was killed because he was a Chinese national.

Petersburg University has expressed its grief over the loss of its professor.

Professor Lu’s colleagues at the university say that Professor Lu was doing very important research on the virus SARS-CoV2 and that he had come to very important conclusions about it.
