According to sources, a delegation of the Afghan Taliban’s political office led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has reached Islamabad. A delegation of Afghan Taliban came to Pakistan at the invitation of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. A delegation of Afghan Taliban arrived in Islamabad from Doha. The delegation will hold talks with the Pakistani leadership regarding the reconciliation process between the Afghan factions.
Earlier, a visit to Pakistan by an Afghan Taliban delegation was confirmed by a Foreign Office spokesman. A statement issued by Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that a delegation of Afghan Taliban was visiting Pakistan at the invitation of the Foreign Ministry.
The special Afghan Taliban delegation visiting Pakistan will discuss advancing the Afghan reconciliation process. According to sources, the Afghan Taliban delegation was invited by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
