An 18-square-mile forest fire in northwestern California has engulfed several homes near the forest. Hundreds of firefighters are battling the blaze. Efforts were also made to control the fire by throwing water on the plane.
Authorities have ordered the evacuation of 8,000 people from 2,500 homes, with rescue workers struggling to put out the blaze.
