Aamir Liaquat’s resignation gets rejected

Lahore, 20th July 2020: Renowned television anchor and PTI leader from Karachi Aamir Liaquat Hussain decided to issue his resignation as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) MNA to the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Aamir Liaquat’s resignation has been rejected by the PM.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday rejected the resignation of his party’s MNA Aamir Liaquat Husain and stated that he was “proud” that the TV show host was part of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Husain shared on his Twitter, that in his meeting with the prime minister, he rejected his “four-page” long resignation. He added that he spoke to the PM with an open heart and praised him for raising his voice for the problems regarding Karachi.

“You are an asset for Tehreek-e-Insaf, there is no need to leave anything,” Husain quoted PM Khan in a series of tweets. He added that the party needed him and would make Pakistan a welfare state and that he respected him for raising his voice for Karachi.

Husain also told through his tweets that Imran Khan said he is well aware of the issues that the people of Karachi are facing and that Karachi is the most important city right now.

Earlier it was reported by Baaghi TV that the renowned host was on its way to put his resignation in front of the PM. He tweeted on his Twitter account, “I am heading to Prime Minister House to present my resignation to Mr. Imran Khan.”

Last week, Husain had tweeted that he had requested time from Prime Minister Imran Khan and would submit his resignation to him in that meeting as he felt “helpless” as an MNA from Karachi. He is unable to help the people of Karachi.

He said they have installed in 960-long water pipeline in UC-13 Jehangir East which had no water supply for the past thirty years. He added he vowed to serve his constituency and is making fill efforts to serve his people to the best of his abilities.

“I cannot provide electricity to my people. I cannot bear to see the suffering of Karachi especially my constituency. I cannot bear the lies of (K-Electric CEO) Moonis Alvi,” he said.

Karachi has been facing extreme and prolonged power outages since the start of hot and humid weather. Monsoon rains have further worsened the situation in the city.
