According to the report of Baaghi TV, the hearing of Narowal Sports City case in the accountability court Islamabad was adjourned till August 26.

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal’s lawyer Sikandar Ijaz appeared in the accountability court in Islamabad. The NAB requested more time to file the reference with the court. The court accepted the NAB’s plea and adjourned the hearing.

It is clear that Ahsan Iqbal was arrested by NAB. Ahsan Iqbal was released on bail by the court after which he was released from Adiala Jail. Upon his release from jail, Ahsan Iqbal was again summoned by the NAB and asked to submit his passport so that he could not escape abroad.

According to NAB, Ahsan Iqbal misused his powers as planning minister. Ahsan Iqbal illegally increased the cost of Narowal Sports project. The cost of Rs 3.5 crore project reached Rs 100 million. He did not seek permission from the Central Development Working Party.

The League leader misused his powers to build a sports city complex. In which he is accused of embezzling Rs 6 billion. According to NAB sources, the sports city complex was built on 44 acres just 800 meters from the Indian border. For which special amount was kept in PSDP.

All funds for the project were spent through the Pakistan Sports Board. Ahsan Iqbal gave the orders despite being aware of the non-appointment of the project director. The new management of the Sports Board had on April 16 drawn the attention of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination.

After which the Chairman NAB directed the DG NAB to investigate the foreign visits of Akhtar Nawaz Ganjira.
