Accountability Court Summons Maryam Nawaz
Islamabad (9th July, 2019): Accountability court summons PMLN leader, Maryam Nawaz in Avenfield case reference on 19th July.
Muhammad Bashir, Court Judge has issued a summon for Maryam Nawaz as according to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) her deed for Avenfield as proven to be false.
NAB had thereby submitted a plea for trial, against the political leader on the basis of presenting fake documents. Last year, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had suspended the sentences against Maryam Nawaz and her husband, Captain (R) M Safdar in the Avenfield case reference. However, after four extensions, on 6th July, the accountability court announced its verdict in the Avenfield reference.
According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and M Safdar were all sentenced to eleven years, eight years ad one year, respectively. While Maryam Nawaz and her husband were accused in only the Avenfield reference. This was one of three property references filed by NAB last years in light of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s verdict against Nawaz Sharif in the Panama Papers case.
Moreover, sources confirm that the reference pertains to ownership of the Sharif family’s apartments at the Avenfield House in London.
