The 32nd Inter-Provincial Ministers of Education Conference was held under the chairmanship of the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood.
A meeting of the 32nd Inter-Provincial Ministers of Education Conference was held under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and National Heritage Shafqat Mahmood. The meeting was attended by all provincial ministers of education and concerned secretaries.
Executive director HEC, DG FGEI, chairman IBCC, MD Punjab Textbook Board, chairman Federal Board and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
Shafqat Mahmood said that each province had formulated a different policy for promoting its Class X and XII students which was causing a difference. As a result of this, each inter-provincial education minister agreed to formulate a uniform policy. They unanimously decided to count marks of optional subjects, and in view of the closure of schools, to facilitate the students, it was decided to give 33% marks in any subject where a student had failed. Also, 5% additional marks will be given in mandatory subjects.
The Board of Technical Education will also use the same procedure for the promotion of students. 50% grace marks will be given in all provinces, and the remaining 50% will be given on the basis of theory.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood further said that smart syllabus will be ensured by April-May, and board exams will be held in May-June. The new academic year will start on August 22, and A-level and A-level examinations will be held as per schedule. Universities will make their timetables for examinations, twice a year in May-June and the second time in October-November, respectively.
Universities across the country will also open admissions twice.
The provincial ministers also informed that the vaccinations of the education sector across the country had been completed, standing at 99%. As such, schools should be opened immediately, they said, and recommendations will be made by the NCOC in this case.
Shafqat Mahmood said in his closing remarks that all decisions in the inter-provincial education ministers conference are unanimous, setting aside all political differences.
