Adnan Sami Khan’s self-respect shattered
Lahore, 28th July 2020: Recently in a debate over the award functions in the industry, singer Adnan Sami Khan has revealed that his self-respect and dignity were at risk once.
According to the media reports, there has been a debate over the awards in the entertainment industry, be it Hollywood, Bollywood, or Pakistan Showbiz industry. Many artists have come forward and shared how the awards are sold.

The recent artist to join the debate is the singer Adnan Sami Khan. The ‘Tera Chehra’ singer retweeted a tweet by popular film-maker Shekhar Kapur calling Bollywood awards shows a ‘negotiation.
Hindustan Times reports, that Adnan Sami was once offered an award in exchange for a free performance which he refused because of his ‘dignity and self-respect.’

“Absolutely correct! I have faced similar ‘negotiations’ where they have wanted me to perform free of charge and bag the award. I refused, saying, I will never ‘buy’ an award! My dignity and self-respect are all that I will take into my grave, nothing else!” he wrote on Twitter, sharing Shekhar’s tweet saying Bollywood awards functions were more of a ‘negotiation’ than an ‘appreciation of creativity’.

We are thinking where was Adnan Sami’s integrity when he abandoned his own country and denounced Pakistani citizenship? Where was his self-respect when he opted to reside across the border for fame and money?
Of late, there have been discussions around award functions and the lobbying culture in Bollywood. Many Bollywood celebrities are seen talking of nepotism and lobby culture in the industry these days.
