Afghan withdrawal: Pakistan to offer assistance to the US in final stage

Aug 27, 2021: Pakistan has accepted the US request for assistance in the final stage of Afghan withdrawal.

The request was made by US forces and NATO alliance, which was accepted by Pakistan. Flights from Afghanistan will land in Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad. It was decided to land the planes in Karachi due to rush in the federal capital Islamabad In the first phase of the evacuation, those who helped the US and coalition forces during the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan will be brought to Karachi on Pakistani visas.

In this regard, a letter issued by the Commissioner Karachi said that arrangements will be made in wedding halls and hotels near Karachi Airport. In the next 3 or 4 days, 2,000 Afghan citizens and foreigners will come to Karachi from Afghanistan. Arrangements have been made for accommodation of Afghan citizens and foreigners in Karachi for a few days.

Possible arrival of foreigners from Afghanistan, immigration, vaccination, transport arrangements have been completed, the final decision regarding corona vaccination on arrival of foreigners will be made today. PCR test has been declared necessary.

Accommodation arrangements have been made for those coming from Afghanistan in Gadap Town. Afghan citizens will be provided accommodation in 3,008 flats in Gadap Labor City. DC Malir directed to make necessary arrangements US diplomats, Americans, people working in Afghanistan.

Earlier, the new US Consul General Mark Stroh had a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Bilateral relations and the current situation in Afghanistan were discussed during the meeting.
