Taliban attack Panjshir: Ahmed Masood’s loyalists retaliate, 35 Taliban claim to have been killed damage is being claimed.

Ahmed Masood, son of former jihadi commander Ahmad Shah Masood, is leading a resistance movement in the Panjshir Valley.

According to various sources, Ahmad Masood’s loyalists have made the defense of the valley stronger and stronger.

The Panjshir Valley is the last stronghold of resistance against the Taliban and besides, they have gained control over almost the whole of Afghanistan.

The Afghan Taliban have laid siege to the Panjshir Valley and clashes have been going on for the past two days. Now the Taliban have also attacked the valley last night.

Fahim Dasti, spokesman for the National Anti-Taliban Resistance Force (NRF) in Panjshir, said the Taliban had attacked the valley after the withdrawal of US troops last night, which has been repulsed. At least 30 Taliban fighters were killed and 15 wounded.

He said that two resistance personnel were also injured in the Taliban attack and the resistance forces also seized military equipment.

Fahim Dasti confirmed the talks with the Taliban and said that the defense of the valley should be continued.

On the other hand, according to the British news agency Reuters, clashes between the Taliban and the resistance force continued in the Panjshir Valley last night.

Reuters quoted two members of the anti-Taliban resistance force in the Panjshir Valley as claiming that at least eight Taliban fighters had been killed in Monday night’s clashes.

It may be recalled that sources close to Ahmed Masood, who led the resistance force in Panjshir yesterday, also claimed that the Taliban attacked a border post in Panjshir on Monday evening which was repulsed by the resistance forces.

According to local media, the Taliban Panjshir has lost communication.
