LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has reportedly responded to the allegation of Shahbaz Gul, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Political Relations.

Ahsan Iqbal, while posting a picture of his grandfather, wrote that my grandfather Chaudhry Rana Abdul Rehman Rana of Rahon, Jalandhar was from East Punjab and was elected a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from 1927 to 1930, 1930 to 1936 and 1937 to 1945.

Hn this regard, historians had many times exposed the struggle of PML-N central leader Ahsan Iqbal’s grandfather Chaudhry Rana Abdul Rehman against the establishment of Pakistan, but now those who have been watching the establishment of Pakistan up close are starting to see these scenes again. Due to this unrest, the fact has come to light that indeed Rana Abdul Rehman, the grandfather of PML-N central leader Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal, was not only a staunch opponent of the establishment of Pakistan but he was also a political enemy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He said that my grandfather was a strong voice of weak Muslims. Ahsan Iqbal further said that it is safe to talk about trees.

Ahsan Iqbal could not deny the opposition of his grandfather Chaudhry Rana Abdul Rehman to the establishment of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

It may be recalled that Shahbaz Gill had alleged that PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal’s grandfather Chaudhry Rana Abdul Rehman was against becoming Pakistan and he had contested elections against PML-N in 1945.

It may be recalled that Shahbaz Gul had revealed after Ahsan Iqbal’s rhetoric against the institutions that Pakistanis were shocked when an old historical event of struggle against Pakistan came to light.
