AIOU offers admissions to Overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP): Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has offered admissions in the first phase of Spring 2021 semester to overseas Pakistanis in matric, intermediate and I. Com programmes.

The admissions are offered to the students living in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Bahrain and America.

AIOU is imparting education not only to hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis living in different parts of the country but it also provides education facilities to overseas Pakistanis based in Middle East and America. It is pertinent to mention here that a great number of Pakistanis are working in different parts of the world, especially Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain however, majority of them are labourers and they are either illiterate or low educated.

These Pakistani are sending a huge amount of foreign remittances to the country each year. Being a national institution AIOU has extended its education facilities to these overseas Pakistan and has provided them the opportunity of enrolment and enhancing their level of education.

Prof. Dr. Zia ul-Qayyum, Vice Chancellor AIOU has expressed the hope that after availing the educational facility of the university, the overseas Pakistanis would be in a better position to get good jobs and improve their social status.
