Alexei Navalny is out of coma: Berlin Hospital

7th September: Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny is out of a coma now, Berlin hospital has said.

According to reports from Reuters, Russian critic Alexei Navalny has been removed from a medically induced coma and is responding to speech, Berlin’s Charite hospital said in a statement on Monday.

The hospital which has been treating Navalny since he was brought in Germany after being poisoned on a Russian domestic flight last month, has weaned him off the mechanical ventilation.

“It remains too early to gauge the potential long-term effects of his severe poisoning,” Charite said in a brief statement.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said Berlin has concluded Navalny was poisoned with Novichok, the same substance that Britain has said was used against a Russian double agent and his daughter in an attack in England in 2018.

Kremlin denies the poisoning accusations to Navalny

Alexei Navalny has been in a coma ever since last month after he was airlifted to Germany. Lately, German doctors informed that Navalny is in an induced coma but his condition is stable and his symptoms are improving.
