Alhamra observes Defense Day with national zeal

LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council celebrated Defense Day with full zeal and enthusiasm on Monday at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall.
The celebrations started with prayers for national security and the country’s prosperity. Alhamra has arranged a painting competition in which Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts students paint Portraits of martyrs and battle scenes in the competition with great enthusiasm. The first, second and third place winners will also be given cash prizes along with the certificates.
Besides, Alhamra organized a musical tribute to paid homage to our martyrs. The renowned classical singer Hamid Ali Khan perform significantly at the show. At the musical celebration, famous singers, including Abdul Rauf, Sajjad Tafu, and the Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts students paid tribute to the Pakistan Army by their performances and raised their voices for Kashmiri’s rights.

Executive Director Alhamra Ijaz Ahmed Minhas said that the event aimed to pay tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces because Defense Day is a golden chapter in the history of Pakistan. The country needed the 6 September 1965 spirit once again. The entire nation should work united for the prosperity of the country, he added.
Alhamra Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said Alhamra paid tribute to the martyrs of 6 September through the Art.
The viewers appreciated the efforts of the Lahore Arts Council to broadcast all the celebrations on their social media platforms live.
