Ali Zafar asked to file a reply to Leena Ghani’s petition soon

Lahore, 25th January: After singer Meesha Shafi, another woman files a claim of Rs. 500 million against the famous singer Ali Zafar.

Baaghi TV: A lawsuit against Ali Zafar was filed by a woman named Leena Ghani in which the petitioner claimed that Ali Zafar first harassed her during a 2014 Pakistani fashion show in London.

According to her, Ali Zafar had spoken to her in an indecent manner twice in June 2014. In the petition, it was stated that Ghani had also complained to her sister and friends.

Ms Ghani claimed that Ali Zafar’s retweet of December 20, 2020, and his tweet of December 22, 2020, are based on lies.

Both tweets claimed that it was Ghani’s hand in the campaign against Ali Zafar and that both the tweets were taken to tarnish Ghani’s reputation.

The petition requested that Ali Zafar be barred from publishing content and news online on social media and TV channels.

However, the Sindh High Court has now given time to Ali Zafar to file a reply in the Rs 50 crore damages case till 15th February.

A claim for Rs 50 crore against singer Ali Zafar was heard in the Sindh High Court.

Petitioner Leena Ghani’s lawyer said that Ali Zafar should be stopped from tweeting like this in future. If Zafar assures not to post such tweets, she will withdraw the petition.

Ali Zafar’s lawyer replied that we have not made any such tweet and hence, will reply after reviewing the request. He said that date in the month of March should be given so that we can submit the reply.

Sindh High Court said that they are giving respite till February 15 to submit reply.

The court said that if the reply is not submitted, it will issue a restraining order after hearing the petitioner’s counsel at the next hearing.

It should be noted that the Sindh High Court had issued notices to Ali Zafar for January 25 through Sessions Judge Lahore.

It may be recalled that on March 19, 2018, singer Meesha Shafi also accused Ali Zafar of harassment. Ms Shafi had also sent a legal notice to Ali Zafar in 2019 seeking Rs 2 billion in damages.
