Earlier, in a letter to President Arif Ali and Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Women’s March, Women’s Freedom March, Women’s Action Forum and Tehreek-e-Niswan have asked the government to reconsider its decision to award the civil award to Ali Zafar. “We are deeply concerned about the decision of the President’s Office to award the Medal of Excellence to Ali Zafar as there are allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar and cases are still pending in the Supreme Court against Ali Zafar,” it said. After the letter, Ali Zafar’s lawyer Barrister Umbereen Qureshi appeared and responded to the letter. He wrote that the organization which supports the international law of justice that everyone is innocent until found guilty is misrepresenting the facts of the case in a letter to the President of Pakistan.

Ali Zafar’s lawyer wrote that the pending cases against Mesha Shafi by Ali Zafar are civil and criminal in nature, including cases filed against those who were part of the nefarious campaign against Mr. Zafar in the FIA’s Cyber ​​Crime Cell.
