Lahore (26 June, 2019): Ali Zafar, Meesha Shafi defamation case takes a turn with new development.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, the defamation case filed by Pakistan singer and actor, Ali Zafar, has officially been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The case includes details of accounts and individuals linked to the defamation campaign started against Ali Zafar by singer Meesha Shafi last year.

Zafar took to Twitter to thank his fans for the support they have shown him and to announce that the case as well as its evidence has been handed over to the FIA so that appropriate action can be taken against the accounts and tweets which were a part of the “smear campaign” carried out against him last year.

“Punishment for the same goes to 3 years in jail #cybercrime”, wrote Ali Zafar.

In another tweet he continued to discuss that criminal procedure has been “initiated against account(s) that threatened” him before his movie Teefa in Trouble was about to be released. He continued to ask his Twitter followers to help him and his team identify all such accounts that had been used to harass him in the Meesha Shafi case last year.

The two had made headline earlier in 2018 when Meesha Shafi had allegedly accused him of harassment. As a result, Zafar has accused Shafi of running a false campaign to publicly malign him through fake accounts so his reputation and career can be tarnished.

In a third tweet he applauded the efforts of the FIA for a major development in the cybercrime unit. He wrote:

“Deeply impressed by the conduct and enthusiasm of officers.”

With this new development Ali Zafar continues to try and create awareness about cyber crimes.

He tweeted: “Know your rights! And ever be afraid to fight for them.”
