All Pakistan Private Schools Federation rejects Sindh High Court’s decision to reduce fees in educational institutions across Sindh.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, President of the All Pakistan Private Schools Federation, Kashif Mirza, has termed the rejection of the Sindh Government’s notification regarding fees by the Sindh High Court as unconstitutional and illegal.

Mirza has said that the notification regarding fees is in conflict with Articles 3, 4, 5, 18, and 25 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan, which is discriminatory and illegal.

Kashif Mirza further clarified that they are bound by the decision of the Supreme Court regarding fees. Instead of creating confusion, the government should take back this decision while respecting the decisions of the Supreme Court.

Mirza added that a Corona Educational Relief Fund has been set up to help pay for the deserving students across Pakistan in order to tackle the spirit of humanity and quarantine, respectively. He said, that the Punjab government’s decision to also reduce fees by an twenty percent is to be notified soon and will also be challenged by the ordinance in court.

Mirza went on to say that the salaries of teachers are fixed as well as school buildings which are on rent which is why the All Pakistan Private Schools Federation rejects the decision of the court and requests the government to take back its decision to preserve the sanctity of court. Mirza clarified that because the ordinance is bound by the decision of the Supreme Court, it is the government who should refrain from “creating confusion” and withdraw the decision.

Kasif Mirza went on to appeal to the Prime Minister, Imran Khan and Chief Justice of Pakistan, Gulzar Ahmed pertaining to the issue.
