An open defeat of the BJP in West Bengal, helpless and suffering leading to Modi’s downfall

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has suffered an open defeat in West Bengal in which Mamata Banerjee has won a clear majority.

According to reports, the conditions created in India due to the corona virus and the way the government has failed to manage the COVID-19 situation have led to the doom of the BJP in all four corners of West Bengal. The BJP has been strongly criticized by the Indian media. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday mocked the BJP over the party’s new office in Delhi, saying a political party should be “polite” in its style.

Mamata Banerjee reportedly said that the BJP is proud to be the world’s largest party office, however, they should be ashamed of it. Addressing a public meeting in Behrampur, West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said that a political party should be polite in its conduct and should not be arrogant.

Mamata Banerjee is popularly referred to as Didi, and is known as the Iron Lady of West Bengal. Born into a lower-middle-class family, Didi is still known to be a public figure. Be it her dress, style or manner of speaking, it is all down to earth. However, the biggest upset in the election is that Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress chief and two-time chief minister has won again. A BJP member from Nandigram has lost against Mamata Banerjee.

According to the report, he lost by 1,736 votes and the Election Commission also rejected the recount request. It may be recalled that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former BJP president and current home minister Amit Shah and several senior party leaders had addressed election rallies in West Bengal and made loud claims of BJP’s victory.
