Rumors have it that former deposed PM Nawaz Sharif has struck a deal with establishment, brokered by Qatari Emir.
According to the reports of Baaghitv, rumors are being spread in media that former deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has struck a deal with military establishment. According to sources, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his visit to Pakistan has conveyed Sharif’s family message to military establishment that Nawaz Sharif is willing to pay $12 billion for release.
Nawaz Sharif who is serving seven year jail term in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail was convicted by court in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference. Court also imposed a fine of Rs1.5 billion and $25 million on Nawaz Sharif.
This development came as former deposed Prime Minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz held a press conference on the same day when Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was due to arrive in Pakistan on two-days official visit. Shehbaz Sharif has offered government charter of economy to steer country out of economic crisis which was termed Mazaq-e-Maeeshat by Maryam Nawaz. A day later, she took a u-turn of her statement and said she has only expressed her personal views not the views of her party PML-N.
This comes after Qatar’s letter sent by a Qatar prince in support of Nawaz Sharif during the Panama Case hearing in Supreme Court. The visit of Qatar’s Emir to Pakistan has been successful and it is believed that an amount of $12 billion will be paid by Sharif family in reward of release of Nawaz Sharif from jail. The other details of deal are kept secret for time being.
