Less than 24 hours after 60-year-old Gurjant Singh, a farmer from Punjab’s Mansa district died at Tikri border, another farmer, identified as Lakhvir Singh, who hailed from Bathinda and was at the same border, died on Thursday of a suspected heart attack. He was part of the BKU (Ugrahan) protest group.

Lakhvir was a part of morchas against farm acts since June when the union had started protests in a limited manner and later used to regularly go on protest since September 15. He had come to Delhi on November 28. “He was on langar Sewa duty at Tikri border since November 28 After all the day’s work, preparing langar for thousands, he used to sleep under the trolley by spreading paddy stubble, beddings, etc. On December 2 night, at around 12.30 am, he started feeling restless and came out of the trolley. Later, he was taken to the PGI Rohtak but he died on his way to the hospital,” said Harjinder Singh Buggi, member BKU Ugrahan.
