Anti-corruption Operation: Policeman Arrested for taking Bribe

According to Baaghi TV report, Anti-Corruption Lahore A arrested ASI of Garhi Shahu police station.

ASI Imtiaz was arrested on charges of taking bribe from a citizen. The accused demanded LCD, TV from the petitioner for bribes. Allegations against the accused were proved in the anti-corruption inquiry.

Case No. 40/2019 was registered against the accused with the approval of Judicial Action. The accused was on the run to avoid arrest.

Earlier, on the instructions of Director Anti-Corruption, Lahore Region, Ahmar Sohail Kefi, raids were carried out in different areas of the city and three accused involved in selling lands worth crores of rupees through forgery were arrested. Anti-corruption arrested Tehsildar Mujahid Zia posted in Pattoki.

Along with the Tehsildar, Patwari Maqbool, nominated in the FIR, was also arrested and the accused had deprived the owners of land worth Rs 50 crore through forgery.

According to anti-corruption officials, the Tehsildar and Patwari forged documents for 64 kanals and 19 marlas of land worth Rs 50 crore in Moza Thokar Niaz Baig.

In another raid operation, accused Mohammad Siddique, who had appeared as a witness in the preparation of forged documents, was arrested.

According to anti-corruption officials, the accused Siddique had testified for the preparation of fake documents to deprive the Overseas Pakistanis of lands worth crores of rupees.

The anti-corruption team included Deputy Director Kashif Jalil Khan, Assistant Director Sheikh Ahmed and Circle Officer Shahid Sharif Gujjar.

Regional Director Anti-Corruption Ahmar Sohail Kefi says that zero tolerance policy is being followed against corruption, Director General Anti-Corruption Muhammad Gohar Nafees says that they are fighting for a corruption free Punjab.
