24th June: Famous pop star Ariana Grande is reported to have registered a new song called ‘My Hair’ on an online database for copyright reasons.
The Grammy Award winner, who is about to turn 27 on June 26, has co-written this song with Victoria Monet, Tayla Par, and producer and songwriter to the stars Tommy Brown. She worked with these three on her previous album ‘Thank U, Next’ as well.
The name of the song itself is very interesting and iconic for Ariana, whose natural shoulder-length locks are rarely seen without her signature ponytail extension fastened by hairstylist Josh Liu.
Last month, Ariana had talked to Apple Music’s Beats 1 host, Zane Lowe, that she did not feel comfortable releasing an album during these ‘tricky times.’
However, the former Nickelodeon child star has released two hit duets with Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, Stuck with U and Rain On Me, respectively. Fans have also eagerly been awaiting Ariana’s mysterious collaboration with Doja Cat.
In her interview with Zane Lowe, Ariana said in accordance with Doja Cat: ‘I’m obsessed with her. I love her. I was able to work with her earlier this year on this song that I want to save for whenever it’s time again, to drop.’
She further continued, ‘But I love her so much. I love her personality. I love what she brings to the table musically. She’s just such a breath of fresh air. I think she’s brilliant and so talented. And she produces, and she does everything herself. I love that. It’s fantastic.’
Ariana also shared, ‘We did this song together towards the end of last year and I love it so much. I remember when I first wrote it and sent it to her, she was in the shower and she was like, “B**, I love this. I’m in the shower.” And I was like, “Shower! You can call me back.”
The singer has brought forth some beautiful tracks for the world to listen to during these difficult times and has helped spread positivity all around.
