Aug 3, 2021: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Tuesday announced that Pakistan had achieved its target of more than one million vaccinations in 24 hours as 1.72 million people were affected in the country on Monday.
This was confirmed by the report from the National Command and Control Center (NCOC). Asad Umar posted on his Twitter account, saying “Glad to announce that our goal of one million vaccines a day has been achieved with a total of 1,072,000 vaccines.”

Praising the hard work of all the administrations across the country, Asad Umar said, “Excellent performance by all those involved.”
Asad Umar said that all federal agencies have cooperated with Punjab, Sindh, KP and Islamabad resulting in the record numbers.
Since the lockdown five days ago, the incidence of COVID-19 has decreased, as claimed by the Sindh Health Department.
Before the lockdown, the positivity rate increased to 24.9%, but four days after the lockdown, the rate dropped from 4.8% to 20.1%.
