Ataullah Esakhelvi Completes 50 years in the Music Career

Lahore (22 June, 2019): Pakistani musician, Ataullah Esakhelvi celebrates 50 years in the music industry.

According to Baaghi TV reports, legendary musician Ataullah Esakhelvi, has completed 50 years in the Pakistani music industry. To celebrate his achievements, Alhamra Arts Council has organized an event.

Ataullah Khan Esakhelvi is popularly known as ‘Lala’ is an award-winning musician who originally belongs to Mianwali, Punjab. While traditionally considered a Saraiki artist, Esakhelvi has produced music in Saraiki as well as Urdu. He was mentored by the late Aadha Khan Gunjial who introduced Esakhelvi to many Punjabi Qalaam.

Some of his more well recognized pieces include: Qameez Teri Kaali, Woh Bahar Ka Zamana, and Aaj Kala Jora Pa.

He is known to belong to a conservative family and so it is believed that he left his house in order to follow his dream of making music. He has previously been awarded with Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions by the Government of Pakistan. As well as the Pride of Performance award.

Sources have confirmed that apart from has being awarded with an achievement award, Esakhelvi has also been presented with a Punjabi Pag on this momentous occasion.

Esakhelvi has also appeared on Coke Studio on two occasions, once in 2011 and then in 2017 [season 4 and 10], respectively.
