BAGHDAD: According to a report by the Fars news agency, Iraqi resistance forces said on Wednesday that rockets had been fired at the military compound of the US embassy in Baghdad’s Green Zone. The US military closed the embassy after the rocket attacks.
Danger sirens sounded after the rocket attack. No casualties have been reported so far in the attack. A few days ago, rockets were fired near US military bases in Al-Taji and Al-Balad. The Iraqi people and political and religious parties are calling for the withdrawal of US troops from the country, while the Iraqi parliament has passed a bill to withdraw US troops from the country by a majority vote.
It should be noted that on January 3, American terrorists carried out an air strike and martyred General Qasim Soleimani, Abu Mehdi Al-Mohandes and many of his comrades. In return, Iran fired dozens of missiles at Ain al-Assad, a key US terrorist base in Iraq, on January 8. In this retaliatory attack by Iran, the United States suffered heavy casualties and financial losses.
