Austere PM saves Rs100m on US visit

Prime Minister Imran Khan has made history as he saved public money worth Rs.100 million, on his visit to United States by using commercial flights instead of using two long-haul jets.

According to reports of Baaghitv, Prime Minister Imran Khan has set a new precedent in his recent visit to United States of America by opting for commercial flights over long haul jets, as practiced by former leaders, and saved public money worth Rs.100 million. Former rulers mostly used Boeing 777 in their visit to USA, which costs roughly Rs.112-126 million for a 28-hour round trip but Prime Minister Imran Khan preferred to travel by using commercial flights and saved public money worth Rs.100 in this tour.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has long promised to reduce the public spending on lavish life-styles of leaders, when the country is trapped in vicious circle of debt. The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has pledged in its election campaign to halt the bleeding of national exchequer, which is caused by previous leaders lavish lifestyle.
