Ashley Barty of Australia won the Women’s Wimbledon Tennis Championship on Saturday.

She defeated Carolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic in the final. Barty’s winning scores were 3-6, 7-6 and 3-6.

This is his first Wimbledon title. He had earlier won the French Open title in 2019.

Barty, 25, won today’s match to mark the 50th anniversary of former Australian tennis star Evan Golagong Koli winning her first title.

During the game, she wore a dress designed to pay tribute to Koli. Koli played in this particular outfit in 1971.

“I hope Avon is proud,” Barty said.

It was the first women’s Wimbledon final to be played in three sets since 2012, when Serena Williams defeated Agni Ishkaradwanska of Poland.

Barty appeared to be rapidly advancing to victory after taking a 0-4 lead over his opponent and gaining 14 points.

Pliskova, 29, however, managed to take advantage of Barty’s weaknesses on several occasions, especially during her second set of service, but she did not succeed in the end.
