Aviation Minister convenes special meeting on repatriation of Pakistanis

Federal Minister For Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, convenes a special meeting on repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in the Gulf countries.

According to the details, a special meeting was attended by senior officials of Aviation Department and the chief executive officer (CEO) PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik.

During the meeting, officials of the aviation department and PIA were given briefing on special flight schedule, capacity and other arrangements for the repatriation.

Moreover, it has been decided that the Minister of Aviation will personally supervise the operation to complete it before Eid ul Azha. The CEO PIA has been instructed to allocate as much space as required to these countries.

Ghulam Sarwar has issued special instructions to seek the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard. It is to be noted that PIA has announced an increase in flights to bring Pakistanis back from abroad.

According to the PIA spokesperson, it has been decided to use Boeing 777 as a substitute for four flights from Doha to Pakistan and Airbus to Bahrain. PIA has announced that the number of flights will be further increased in view of the demand.
