Babar Azam committed to take the National Cricket Team to new heights

Lahore, 18th May: National ODI cricket team captain Babar Azam says that he is trying to keep his leadership style as aggressive as that of Imran Khan.

“My goal is to bring the national team of the T20 and the ODI to the top three rankings”. Talking to media through video link, Babar Azam said that he was grateful to the PCB for giving him the leadership of T20 and ODI. He said that leadership of the team is not a new thing for him.

It is true that the leadership of the team is not a flower bed and that the head coaches are guiding the team from outside during the match. This impression is wrong. I am the one to feed the team at the ground.

Babar Azam said that there is no pressure to be compared with the Indian team leader and batsman Virat Kohli. Kohli has his own style of playing and I have my own style. I am playing my cricket and learning things as a captain. Sometimes there are good performances, sometimes we make mistakes. Babar said that there is no pressure on him for captaincy because of batting.

He said that the tour of England would not be easy. The PCB is reviewing it in collaboration with the English Cricket Board. The protection of the players is the first priority of the board. He said that the rules of the game are changing and so will the law of social distancing so it will not be easy to adjust with it, but will try to adjust as soon as possible.

Azam said that Muhammad Rizwan should get a chance. On the contrary, I think that every player should get a full opportunity. Sarfraz Ahmed is part of our plan. The fact that Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir are not included in the central contract does not mean that they are not included in the plan. Babar Azam said that a strategy has been formulated to keep all the players active.
