Babar Azam signs contract with English county Somerset

Pakistan T20 captain Babar Azam has once again signed a contract with English county Somerset.

According to a statement from Somerset County Cricket Club, Babar Azam will join the county team on September 2 after the last T20 match between Pakistan and England and will remain with the team till October 4.

According to the announcement, Babar Azam will be available for Somerset for the last 7 matches as well as for other matches if he qualifies in the next round.

It may be recalled that Babar Azam also represented Somerset in county cricket last season and was also the top scorer of the tournament by scoring 578 runs. Regarding the new agreement, Babar Azam says he is happy to represent Somerset once again.

Somerset director Andy Hare, on the other hand, says Babar Azam is a great cricketer and his team has worked with the English Cricket Board, Pakistan Cricket Board and Babar’s management team to ensure his participation this season. Hopefully, his presence will be very useful for the team.
