The Bangladeshi government has strongly condemned the brutal killing of three Bangladeshis in India’s Tripura, who were beaten to death on suspicion of cow theft.

The incident has sparked serious concern and calls for justice from Dhaka.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh described the attack as a grave violation of human rights and rule of law.

The government expressed deep distress over the incident and urged the Indian authorities to conduct an immediate, impartial and transparent investigation.

The statement emphasized that such inhumane acts must not be repeated and sincere efforts should be made to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The perpetrators must be identified and brought to justice without delay.

Bangladesh also reaffirmed that all individuals, regardless of nationality or their location near the border, have the right to full protection of their human rights.

The victims, identified as Pandit Mia from Basulla village, Sajol Mia from Kabilaspur village and Juel Mia, 35, from Alinagar village; all day laborers from Chunarughat Upazila in Habiganj district, were killed on October 15 after being accused of cow theft.
