PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz received the body of Begum Shamim Akhtar at the airport along with other PML-N leaders. After which the deceased was taken to Jati Amira. Funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar will be offered at Sharif Medical City, Raiwind.

According to PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, arrangements have been made for the funeral of the late Begum Shamim Akhtar. Funeral prayers will be offered by Maulana Ragheb Naeemi. Before leaving London, the prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar, mother of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, were offered at Regent Park’s Mosque and from there the body was taken to the airport by ambulance for departure to Pakistan.

Under Corona Lockdown rules in London, 30 people were allowed to attend the funeral. Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Salman Shehbaz and Ali Dar, Ali Imran and other family members attended the funeral prayers. Begum Shamim Akhtar’s body was flown to Lahore on British Airways Flight A0259.

The government has released Shehbaz Sharif from jail for 5 days for attending his mother’s funeral prayers. The Punjab Home Department had issued a notification to release him on parole for 5 days. According to which, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz Sharif will be released on parole from November 27th to December 1st.
