Beyonce Releases Trailer For ‘Black Is King’

21st July 2020: Beyonce is bringing out the star power for ‘Black Is King’. The pop star released a new trailer for her visual album on Sunday.

According to international media reports, it features Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, JAY-Z, Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams, Tina Knowles Lawson alongside others.

The film, which will premiere globally on Disney+ on July 31, is based on the music of ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, it will be premiered just two weeks after the movie was released last year.

Disney shared on Sunday, ‘The film reimagines the lessons from the 2019 blockbuster for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.’ Several artists featured on ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album will also be appearing in ‘Black Is King’.

The trailer shows that ‘Black Is King’ will include full-length videos for the songs ‘Already,’ ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ ‘Mood 4 Eva’ and ‘My Power.’

The visual album has been in production for one year, as filming took place in New York, Los Angeles, South Africa, West Africa, London, and Belgium.

Disney has made a distribution deal, making ‘Black Is King’ available in the majority of Africa, which includes South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Namibia, Cameroon, Liberia, Burundi, Senegal, Togo, Somalia, Benin, Congo, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Gabon, Cape Verde, and several other countries via MultiChoice Group’s M-Net and Canal+ Afrique.

Beyonce is the writer, director, and executive producer for ‘Black Is King.’ Other collaborators on this project include Queen B’s frequent music video director Jake Nava, Pierre Debusschere, “This Is America” creative director Ibra Ake, filmmakers Blitz Bazawule, Emmanuel Adjei, Dikayl Rimmasch and Jenn Nkiru.
