ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday expressed solidarity with government employees protesting outside the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Talking to government employees, Chairman Bilawal said that the PTI government was lying to the people of Pakistan and was not fulfilling its promises and agreements with government employees. He met with a representative of government employees and assured them of his support for their demands. He said he would also raise their demands in parliament.

Chairman Bilawal thanked the media for covering the protest and said that the media should become the voice of the poor. He hoped that the media would expose the injustices done to the government employees as well as the poor people of Pakistan during the last three years of the PTI government.

The government claims that the economy is declining and we are on economic growth, then why the salaries of government employees have not been increased? The PTI government lies and does injustice to the poor people of Pakistan. Inflation in Pakistan has multiplied, poverty and unemployment have reached unusually high levels over the past three years. The government should have raised salaries as much as possible amid epidemics around the world.

He said that the PPP government had increased salaries by 120% and pensions by 100% in 2008-09. The government has a responsibility to increase wages in line with inflation in the country. The PPP and the opposition demand that relief be provided to the people and that these injustices will no longer be tolerated.

He said that he has directed the Sindh government to fix a minimum wage of Rs. 25,000. We will do everything in our power to stop the PTIMF budget in the National Assembly.

Chairman Bilawal said that if this budget of PTIF is passed in the assembly, he will go to every corner of the country and tell the people of Pakistan that they are suffering due to the incompetence and incompetence of this government. The burden of this budget of PTIMF is being borne by the poor man.

He said that only the government of the people can solve the problems of the people. He assured the protesting employees that the PPP would launch a campaign to get rid of the PTIMF budget.

Responding to a question from reporters, Chairman Bilawal said that we are demanding the government to abide by the agreement reached with the employees. The government should increase salaries as the PPP did during its tenure in government.
