Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has termed July 5, 1977 as the darkest day in the history of Pakistan and said that the war between democratic and dictatorial forces is still going on.

July 5, 1977 will always be remembered as one of the darkest days in the history of Pakistan.

Chairman PPP said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto united the divided nation after the fall of Dhaka and unanimously sponsored the passage of the constitution. Chairman PPP said that former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto made the state democratic as he transferred power to the people and empowered them by depriving them of power limited to a select few. He said that the martial law of 1977 was the worst attack on the people of Pakistan and the nation was still suffering the consequences of this martial law despite the death of the dictator decades later.
