Blast in Rawalpindi Cantonment

Rawalpindi: There has been a blast in the cantonment area of Rawalpindi, leaving one person dead and several dead. According to reports, the explosion took place over an electricity pole. There are reports of loss of life and the police say that they have surrounded the area.

Baaghi TV reports that a roadside vendor succumbed to his injuries in the incident and according to rescue sources many pedestrians have been injured.

Sources also say that as soon as the incident was reported, Chairman Rescue 1122 Dr Abdurrehman reached the area. Sources say that the explosives were fit into an electricity pole. Rescue teams are busy  and the police, civil defence, and bomb disposal squads also reached the area.
