Brazilian Health Minister tests positive for COVID-19: UNGA

Brazilian Health Minister’s test for Corona Viruses came back positive after the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Conference; while he fell victim, the rest of the people to come in contact with him became lucky. 

According to the French news agency (AFP), a press release issued by the Brazilian government, which states that other members of the delegation also underwent corona tests which came back negative. Since they narrowly escaped Corona, they have been deemed very lucky.

On the other hand, Brazil’s official spokesperson says:

“Coirago (Health Minister) has received both doses of the vaccine and he is the second member of the delegation of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to confirm the corona virus after attending the meeting.”

The latest information in this regard also states that the 55-year-old health minister will stay in the United States until the completion of the quarantine, while the delegation from Brazil has returned to attend the meeting.

According to foreign media reports, Brazilian President Bolsonaro has not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19 and has been seen without a mask on several occasions during his trip. There also have been claims that said Brazil’s population is one of the last group to have been vaccinated.

A statement from the Brazilian president’s office said:

“Coirago was in good health. The government will continue to take steps to combat the epidemic in Brazil, given all health precautions.”

It is believed that a picture of Bolsonaro went viral on social media in which he was seen eating pizza from the streets of New York. He was accompanied by other members of the Brazilian delegation who did not wear masks. In the photo, only the health minister was wearing a mask, that too was under the nose.
